Fencing Upgraded
Fencing that has been fixed / erected in Woodstock area belongs to Metrorail & Intersite such as the 4 x fences in Tide Street and the one recently erected in Grey Street. The assistance of these two entities (Metrorail & Intersite) have been phenomenal and they must receive commendation for their efforts in completing these huge & expensive tasks. This fencing has been fixed many times for the past two years, but that did not stop the culprits from breaking it, again and again. The WID just had to ask Metrorail to erect a stronger type of fencing, because these open areas in the fence which were utilised as a thoroughfare for perpetrators / thieves who could easily without being noticed, walk over the train lines towards Irvin & Johnson in order to break in. Metrorail realised the urgency of the situation and a beautiful palisade fence was erected in Grey Street three months after the request was made by the WID. All new fencing erected within the boundaries of Woodstock are being monitored by the WID Security and all faults are being reported immediately. Each of the complaints forwarded are accompanied by BEFORE & AFTER pictures.
